From what I know of Mr. Burroughs, it was meant to be harsh, biting sarcasm. I find a couple of lines in it personally offensive, and can see where just about everybody could take offense at something in it. But, harsh, biting, sarcastic social critique being a thing I love, I am compelled to share it.
